💥 Why Old Ear Pads Change the Entire HE5 Experience

Planar magnetic headphones are extremely sensitive to comfort and ear positioning. When your ear pads become too thin or too compressed, the headphones no longer sit around the ears the same way they originally did.

The HIFIMAN HE5 and HE5se are known for detailed, energetic and spacious listening. But once the cushions lose their shape, the listening experience can become less comfortable and less enjoyable over time.

Fresh replacement ear pads help restore the support, spacing and wearing comfort your headphones were designed to provide.

• ❌ Ear pads feel flat or collapsed
• ❌ More pressure around the ears
• ❌ Headphones sit too close to the ears
• ❌ Long listening sessions become tiring
• ❌ Uneven left/right cushion feel
• ❌ Less stable headphone positioning
• ❌ Pads look cracked, dirty or heavily worn
• ❌ Open-back listening feels less comfortable
• ❌ Your HE5 or HE5se no longer feels premium

A fresh pair of HIFIMAN HE5 replacement ear cushions helps bring back the comfort and consistency that make planar magnetic headphones enjoyable for extended listening.

• ✔ Softer contact around the ears
• ✔ Better support during long sessions
• ✔ Improved fit consistency
• ✔ Cleaner and fresher headphone feel
• ✔ Better daily comfort
• ✔ More immersive listening sessions
• ✔ Extend the life of your headphones

🧵 Velour or PU Leather – Choose the Feel That Matches Your Listening Style

Different ear pad materials create different comfort characteristics. These HIFIMAN HE5 / HE5se replacement cushions are available in velour or PU leather so you can choose the feel that best matches your setup and listening habits.

☁️ Velour – Breathable Long-Session Comfort

Velour ear pads are popular among audiophiles because they feel soft, breathable and comfortable during extended listening. They help reduce heat build-up and create a more relaxed wearing experience for long music sessions.

🖤 PU Leather – Smoother Feel & Stronger Ear Contact

PU leather ear pads provide a smoother surface and a more contained seal feel around the ears. They are ideal for users who prefer a cleaner finish and a more focused contact around the ear cups.

🎯 Quick guide: Velour = softer, cooler and breathable / PU leather = smoother finish and stronger contact around the ears.

🎼 Built for Open-Back Planar Listening Sessions

The HE5 and HE5se are not casual headphones people wear for ten minutes. These are headphones often used for deep listening sessions, high-resolution music, desktop setups and focused audio enjoyment.

Because of that, comfort matters enormously. Worn cushions can quickly create pressure and fatigue during long listening sessions, even if the headphones still sound excellent.

Fresh replacement ear pads help restore a softer and more stable fit so you can enjoy your planar headphones for hours again.

• ✔ Better comfort for long listening sessions
• ✔ Softer pressure distribution
• ✔ More stable headphone fit
• ✔ Less fatigue during critical listening
• ✔ Better overall daily usability

🎵 Restore Ear Position & Listening Consistency

On planar magnetic headphones, ear pad shape and thickness influence how your ears sit relative to the drivers. When the cushions flatten too much, the headphones can feel less balanced and less natural to wear.

Fresh replacement cushions help restore a more consistent ear position and more stable support around the ears. This helps your HE5 or HE5se feel more controlled and comfortable during long listening sessions.

A better cushion shape can also help preserve the spacious, immersive feeling that open-back planar headphones are known for.

• ✔ Better ear positioning consistency
• ✔ More stable headphone fit
• ✔ Improved comfort symmetry
• ✔ More enjoyable open-back listening
• ✔ Better listening stability during long sessions
• ✔ Headphones feel closer to their intended design

💡 If your HIFIMAN HE5 or HE5se feels less comfortable or less immersive than before, worn ear pads are often the main reason.

🎧 Ideal for Audiophile Listening, Gaming & Desktop Audio

Open-back planar headphones are excellent for immersion and spacious sound — fresh pads help keep them comfortable.

💻 Desktop Listening

✨ Cleaner Pads, Fresher Feel, Better Daily Experience

Ear pads absorb sweat, dust, skin oils and daily residue over time. Even premium headphones can feel unpleasant if the cushions become old and worn.

Replacing your HE5 or HE5se cushions gives the headphones a cleaner surface against the skin and refreshes the overall appearance of your setup.

• ✔ Cleaner contact surface
• ✔ Better daily comfort
• ✔ Fresher headphone appearance
• ✔ Great for older or second-hand headphones
• ✔ More enjoyable everyday use

💰 Extend the Life of Your HIFIMAN Headphones
